- Lead Operations’ technical readiness for new product development projects.
- Evaluate design/process feasibility and manage risks to ensure stable, on-time production launch.
- Drive build readiness, cross-functional coordination, and issue resolution.
- Develop the APE engineering team and strengthen process systems and team culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
1. Project Leadership (Operations Side)
- Lead and coordinate all Operations activities for new product development projects.
- Participate in design and technical reviews with R&D/NPI to ensure manufacturability (DFM/DFA).
- Build project readiness plans, identify technical and process risks, and drive issue closure.
- Escalate urgent/critical issues and propose alternatives to protect Operations gating.
2. Process & Technical Evaluation
- Conduct manufacturing feasibility studies, process capability assessments, equipment requirements, layout/material flow, and manpower evaluations.
- Lead PFMEA creation and coordinate NPD deliverables for Operations.
- Propose process methods, fixtures, and design improvements to increase stability and reduce risks.
3. Build Readiness & Process Validation
- Prepare and execute readiness checklists for QB/PP builds and 1st MP readiness.
- Review and approve fixture lists, WI/SOPs, quality documents, limit samples, and golden samples.
- Ensure all production KPIs are achieved before Mass Production.
4. Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with R&D/NPI, IE, QE, ME, PMC, and PDN to evaluate process capability.
- Negotiate, align, and finalize SOP and required actions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional teams.
5. People & Team Development
- Manage, coach, and develop APE engineers to achieve strong performance and technical competency.
- Build technical capabilities in DFX, PFMEA, Process Control, MSA, SPC, validation, and problem-solving.
- Develop standard templates and procedures for new product introduction from Operations.
- Foster a strong team culture built on ACTION (Accountability, Collaboration, Transparency, Ownership, No Rework).
6. Reporting
- Provide weekly updates on project progress, readiness status, risk list, and build results to the Management Team.
