Job Description

Position Summary:

The Quality Engineer I/II – Factory PRIME is responsible for supporting manufacturing quality activities to ensure product reaching end-users maintains Milwaukee’s quality standards. This role works with increasing levels of independence to assess quality risks, support escalation activities, and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions. The Quality Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure timely containment and resolution of manufacturing issues while contributing to continuous improvement efforts within the plant and across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess, coordinate, and communicate manufacturing quality risks to reduce impact to production and business operations.

• Support escalation activities by assisting in containment, data collection, and communication for medium and high-level issues.

• Lead or support root cause analysis activities using structured problem-solving methodologies in collaboration with plant and global teams.

• Assist in development and implementation of corrective and preventive action plans to address manufacturing and supplier quality issues.

• Coordinate containment activities for finished goods and work-in-progress, including sorting, rework, and disposition support.

• Perform process and quality system audits to ensure compliance with specifications, procedures, and quality standards.

• Apply statistical methods such as gauge R&R, design of experiments, and statistical process control to analyze and improve quality performance.

• Support documentation and tracking of quality events, including non-conformance records and action trackers.

• Collaborate with Supplier Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure alignment on issue resolution and process improvements.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, manufacturing processes, and plant performance. 

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or reliability engineering
  • Exposure to quality management systems, including auditing and control plans
  • Basic understanding of root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies
  • Good communication in English
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with statistical tools and software (e.g., Minitab, JMP, ReliaSoft) is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
